Ireland, L. L. Large archive of L.L. Ireland's personal ephemera and magic memorabilia. Hundreds of individual items filling one large carton, including early photographs of Ireland working as a carnival sideshow magician (and showing Ireland in front of the show's banner line), his U.S. Passport, a metal strong box containing many photographs, business cards and personal effects, dozens of portraits of Ireland and images of his hands performing various gambling sleights and magic tricks, pictures of his wife Frances Irlenad, newspaper clippings, an early Ushers pitchbook, early Ireland letterhead, programs, letters, his death certificate (citing acute alcoholism as the cause of death), a personal notebook, the guest register from his funeral service (signed by over 100 magicians, including Okito, Marlo, Crandall, and others), his primary school report cards and records, and much more. The material dates to Ireland's early years as a farm boy in Minnesota, through his untimely death in Chicago in 1954. Condition generally good. Should be seen.
