Inscribed on the half-title, "To my very dear friend Bruce one of the very best of them all most sincerely, Dai Vernon." At the urging of Larry Jennings, Bruce Cervon moved from Akron, Ohio to Los Angeles to study with Dai Vernon. He became one of Vernon's most prolific and talented students.
