Handkerchief Globe. Detroit, Caroselli & Co., ca. 1937. Finely spun nickel plated copper globe 3 ¾" in diameter which allows the magician to change one handkerchief for another, or to magically restore the burning ashes of a borrowed handkerchief. Very good condition. Caroselli was an expert mechanic who produced gaffed coins, holdouts and other metal apparatus. Many of his creations were distributed by the Abbott Magic Novelty Co. until the US Department of the Treasury ordered him and other magic manufacturers to temporarily cease and desist what it termed "defacement" of legal tender. Caroselli called this effect "The Vase of Rismar" in his advertising.
