[Erdnase] Archive of research material, notes, photographs and correspondence related to the hunt for S. W. Erdnase's identity. Compiled by Jay Marshall, the file contains numerous miscellaneous notes in Marshall's hand, photostats and copies of newspaper articles, several TLS from Martin Gardner related to his hunt for Erdnase, TLS from Lloyd Jones, original photograph of Alfred Benzon (framed), sepia photograph of Maxo, and a small tintype of (presumably) E.S. Andrews (Gardner's Erdnase candidate), a corrected carbon of Gardner's original story for True magazine (the periodical is also included), and an introduction to the story written by Gardner also bearing Gardner's corrections, plus other miscellaneous ephemera. Condition varies, but generally good. Should be seen.
