A World War II leather covered cordite case of cylindrical form with lift-off hinged lid at top with leather strap handle secured by brass rivets, lined in tan burlap or linen. Embossed marks to lid "No 66 II" and "BH & G Ltd / II-1941". Approximate height 29", diameter 14.5". Note: cordite is a smokeless explosive used in ammunition in replacement of gunpowder after 1889.
