Kindel Furniture Company (American, Contemporary), New York Empire armchair with mahogany wood frame, parcel-gilt decorated top rail panel, with stencil decorated Neoclassical scene, flanked by acanthus leaves at top. Back, sides, and seat upholstered with green-striped silk, with gilt embroidered Neoclassical style motif. Large, scrolling arms above four acanthus-decorated cabriole legs, terminating in large, hairy lion's paw feet. Height 38", width (across arms) 24.5", depth 25". Seat to floor 19".
