Israel Seymour (American (New York), active 1809-1865), circa 1824-1850. Handcrafted salt-glazed stoneware jug of standard ovoid form with ribbed and rounded handle at top near tooled spout, bulbous body with impressed stamp mark for pottery maker reading "I. SEYMOUR TROY" above perched bird facing forward, all incised and stamped elements highlighted in cobalt blue. No other apparent marks. Overall approximate height 15.7". From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
