After Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879), "Stag with Tree", bronze with marble base, apparently unsigned. 20th century cast bronze sculpture with black marble base after the original work by noted French sculptor Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879), depicting male deer (buck or stag) with impressive antlers, rubbing his chin on the branch of a bare tree, with naturalistic base on marble plinth. Overall with base approximately 17.25" x 17.4" x 8.25". Note: Alternate artist spellings include "P.J. Mene", "PJ Mene".
