Italian, 19th century. Matched pair of polychrome decorated wood twin beds having rococo form, the tall headboards with foliate scrolled borders centered with rocaille scrolled carved crest over a polychrome floral painted central panel within low relief cartouche surround, the footboard similarly decorated, the scroll carved side rails floral painted, all raised on squat cabriole legs. The whole painted in pistachio ground with gilded borders and central panels in mustards. Approximate height of headboard 57.25", footboard 34.25", width 38.5", side rails 76".
