Pair of matching George III period knife boxes with mahogany bodies of traditional sloped and serpentine form, each with satinwood inlay decoration and borders with oval medallion with radiating form, fitted interiors for housing knives with satinwood string inlaid ornament. Each unmarked. Overall approximate height 13.5", width 8.6", depth 11". Provenance: Walker McIntyre Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia, whereby acquired by the present owner.
