Staffordshire White Salt-glazed Stoneware Jug, England, baluster form with two bands of tooled decoration, the front marked and dated "I/TA/1739," applied strap handle with pressed star and cross pattern, ht. 8 1/2 in. Provenance: Ginsberg & Levy. Literature: Illustrated as item #60 in the Earle Collection Catalog, 1915. Estimate $1,500-2,500 Evidence of professional repair to the rim and spout, and a short horizontal hairline crack in the foot ring below the handle.
