Two Staffordshire Molded Plates, England, third quarter 18th century, an oval creamware platter with molded lattice rim and fruit decoration, highlighted in green and manganese glazes; and a small tortoiseshell plate with bead and reel rim pattern, wd. to 12 1/2 in. Provenance: The tortoiseshell plate, Matthew & Elisabeth Sharpe. Estimate $200-300 Creamware plate has a hairline crack that extends down into the base and two restored rim chips. The tortoiseshell plate has no obvious chips, cracks or evidence of repair. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
