Cobalt Spreadwing Eagle-decorated Stoneware Jar, Star Pottery, Greensboro, Pennsylvania, c. 1870s, the jar with flaring rim and stencil decoration, ht. 9 7/8 in. Estimate $300-500 There is a 2 1/2 in. hairline crack in the rim near the eagle's right wingtip, and a 1 1/2 in wide chip on the exterior of the rim on the back side of the jar. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. Any condition statement given, as a courtesy to a client, is only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
