White-painted Pine Step-back Cupboard, New England, early 19th century, the top half with scratchbeaded and paneled door opening to removable shelves, on the similar projecting lower half with applied base molding and cutout feet, ht. 84 1/4, wd. 37, dp. 20 in. Estimate $3,000-5,000 original backboards run all the way to the floor, feet appear to be free from replacements; paint with wear, some alligatoring in spots, and some areas of inconsistency; minor shrinkage separation between side boards.
