Cherry and Bird's-eye Maple Veneer Inlaid Chest of Drawers, probably Spooner and Fitts, Athol, Massachusetts, c. 1810, the bowed front joining ovolo corners above a conforming case with quarter-engaged ring-turned columns flanking cockbeaded drawers above an elaborately cutout skirt centering an inlaid oval, ht. 39 1/2, wd. 41 1/2, dp. 22 in. Estimate $1,500-2,500 veneer chips, cracks, and small losses; patch near left corner of top; shrinkage cracks to sides; missing escutcheons; brasses are replaced.
