Attributed to James Gale Tyler (American, 1855-1931) Gloucester Light. Signed or inscribed "JAMES G. TYLER" l.r., identified on a hanging tag tacked to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 14 x 22 in., framed. Condition: Two wax reinforcements to the reverse corresponding to small areas of retouch to the recto, craquelure, minor surface grime. N.B. According to the information on the hanging tag, the painting was the property of Cynthia Wheatland, and it appeared in the Kennedy Galleries' Quarterly in June 1984, p. 267.
