Blue-splashed Brown-glazed Stoneware Jar, China, possibly Tang dynasty, oval form with high shoulder, decorated with milky blue splashes, most of which travel upwards drawing together a mountainous landscape with a waterfall, bisque mouth rim and bottom, knife-cut foot rim, brown-glazed interior, ht. 10 3/4 in. Provenance: Purchased from Christie's, June 3, 1993, Sale 7688, Lot 194. Estimate $2,000-3,000 trace of minor possible to mouth rim.
