Bronze Vessel with Chained Handle and Cover, China, Han style, cylindrical, resting on three short cabriole feet, two loophole knobs, each connected with the chained handle, the cover knob with a chain connected to the handle, decorated with raised bands and lines, overall ht. with handle 10 3/4, vessel ht. 7 5/8 in. Provenance: Mary Andrews Wolff Collection since 1990, purchased from Jan van Beers, London; then by descent to the present owner. Estimate $800-1,200 some casting flaws, thick rusting to the interior, minor nicks, spotty scratches and rusting, surface dirt, wt. approx. 7 lb.
