Condition: Panel with thin strips added at top and bottom edges, subtle vertical lines of craquelure, surface abrasions and grime. Provenance: Property from the estate of Francis M. Bator, Massachusetts. Provenance: Property from the estate of Francis M. Bator. Estimate $800-1,200 Panel with a label from Winsor & Newton, London, on the reverse. With a fragmentary label, Moser, 629 Lexington Avenue, New York, on the frame backing paper. The surface abrasions are minor and located near the edges of the composition. There are also some very fine, pinpoint sized scattered dots of what might be varnish, which can be noticed only at certain angles in raking light. The dot could not be easily photographed. There is a small unidentified dot below the signature. Framed dimensions are 16 x 19 3/4 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
