Amasa Hewins (American, 1785-1855) Copy After Correggio, Madonna in Adoration of the Child Jesus. Inscribed "Copied by A. Hewins/Correggio in the Tribune/Florence 1831" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 32 1/2 x 26 in., framed. Condition: Nail and puncture to u.l. edge, surface grime. N.B. The original work by Correggio hung in the Tribuna at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
