Émile Bernard (French, 1868-1941) Old Roman Street. Signed and dated "Emile Bernard 1922" l.c., titled in an inscription in a later hand on the frame backing cardboard. Ink wash on paper, 15 5/8 x 11 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Paper abraded on the reverse at the upper edge where tape appears to have been removed, affixed to window mat with tape at intervals around the perimeter of the reverse. N.B. The inscription on the frame backing indicates that this ink wash drawing was in an exhibition at Hammer Gallery in 1957. Estimate $200-400 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
