Hungarian School, 20th Century Village Scene Unsigned, with an unidentified export stamp (possibly Hungarian) affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 31 1/4 x 39 in. (79.3 x 99.1 cm), framed. Condition: Drying cracks, canvas deformation. N.B. There is a sketch of another village scene in oil on the reverse. Estimate $1,000-1,500 There are scattered pale accretions/spots of surface grime. There is a partial unidentified label affixed to the stretcher, and indistinct inscriptions on the stretcher. Frame dimensions: 32 1/2 x 40 1/2 x 1 1/2 in.
