William Zorach (American, 1887-1966) Standing Nude Signed "Zorach" in the bronze base. Bronze with brown patina, height 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm), on a polished stone plinth. Condition: Minor verdigris, dust and dirt to interstices. N.B. We would like to thank Jonathan Zorach for his assistance cataloging this piece. Mr. Zorach commented that according to the thesis by Roberta Tarbell this piece is entitled "The Performer," but also "Draped Female Figure," "Draped Figure," or "Standing Figure." Some of these names appear to have been given by art dealers when the piece was sold either at auction or in a gallery. There were six casts made of an original that was in the collection of Bella and Sol Fishko in New York when the Tarbell thesis was written. The original dates to 1925. Estimate $1,000-1,500 There are no further issues to report. Bronze by itself is 13 1/4 inches. Height overall including the plinth is 18 1/4 inches. Plinth by itself measures 5 inches high and 4 x 4 inches Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. Any condition statement given, as a courtesy to a client, is only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Skinner shall have no responsibility for any error or omission.
