Ann Wolff (German/Swedish, b. 1937) Goddess in the Rain, Gotland, Sweden, 1985, blown, sandblasted, acid-etched glass, marked "Ann Wolff 85" and "W.22.10/5.7," ht. 4, dia. 13 in. Note: Wolff is a glass artist who lives and works in both Gotland, Sweden, and in Berlin, Germany. Her blown, engraved, and cast work explores the lives of women, their relationship with one another, and their position in society. She is considered one of the founders of the International Studio Glass movement. Starting in 1977, she has served as a guest instructor at Dale Chihuly's Pilchuck Glass School. Estimate $800-1,200 Good to very good condition. No chips, cracks or visible signs of repair. One shallow, v-shaped scratch. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
