Two Edward Wormley (1907-1995) for Dunbar Twin Beds, Berne, Indiana, c. 1955, mahogany, with maker's metal label, ht. 36 1/2, 30, wd. 42, dp. 80 in. Note: Copies of original invoice will be provided. Wormley was an American modern furniture designer. In 1926 he studied briefly at the Art Institute of Chicago and then worked as an interior designer for Marshall Fields & Company. In 1944, while working for Dunbar, Wormley led their Modern focus incorporating European and Scandinavian influences into their lines. The result was furniture that was sophisticated yet mainstream, and very successful. Estimate $400-600 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
