Bruno Mathsson (Swedish, 19074-1988) for Dux Pernilla Lounge Chair and Ottoman, Sweden, c. 1980, designed 1937, birch, plywood, and leather, branded, ht. 38 1/2, 18, wd. 36, 25, dp. 37, 27 in. Note: Mathsson is an internationally-recognized designer and architect. He was an advocate of simplicity, beauty and elegance in form, which also applied to the furniture he designed. Mathsson's furniture was innovative in technique as well as design, his production methods included the bending of laminated wood. Although his designs are from the 30s and 40s, his furniture is among the classic furniture of our time. Estimate $800-1,200 Good condition. Some wear to leather of armrests and back pillow. Ottoman good. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
