Boxed Set of Robert Rauschenberg (American, 1925-2008) Tribute 21 Cards, 1994, box ht. 3 1/2, wd. 9 1/2, dp. 4 1/2; card ht. 8 1/2, wd. 3 3/4 in. Note: Rauschenberg was an American painter and graphic artist whose early works anticipated the Pop Art movement. Rauschenberg is well-known for his "combines" of the 1950s, in which non-traditional materials and objects were employed in various combinations. Tribute 21 comprises a series of 21 artworks, celebrating 21 humanitarian themes, for the 21st century. Each print is dedicated to a person who embodies the given theme.
