Chippendale Mahogany Oxbow Serpentine Slant-lid Desk, probably Massachusetts, late 18th century, interior central prospect door flanked by three drawers and four valanced compartments, above a cockbeaded case of drawers on claw-and-ball feet, brasses appear original, old refinish, (imperfections, lacks central drop pendant in base), ht. 43 1/2, wd. 41 3/4, dp. 23 in. Estimate $1,500-2,500 prospect door loose, drop pendant broken off long ago (remnant still there), shrinkage crack in side. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
