Hamilton 4992B U. S. Government Observatory Watch, colorless and green Plexiglas case housing the 2 3/4-in. dia. black dial with sweep center seconds, stem-wind, stem-set damascened movement marked "Hamilton Watch Co. U.S.A./4992B/22 Jewels/U.S. Govt./4C16142," case 3 3/4 in. square. Note: Information provided reads "Marvin Whitney built these from a Hamilton 4992B Military watch to use as a measuring tool at the naval observatory. The Observatory was using this instrument to see what error was in the Time signal between the station in Beltsville, Maryland WWC, and the location it was received in, Colorado. The error would be caused by interference in radio signals in the atmosphere." Estimate $1,200-1,400 currently winding setting and ticking.
