Copper Alloy Statue of Parvati, India, standing in the abhanga posture holding a child in her left arm, dressed in a dhoti with beaded strings over her exposed breast and belly, ht. 40 in. Provenance: A private collection acquired some time ago from several New England galleries. Estimate $600-800 trace of repaired spot to her shoulder, spotty metal corrosions and tarnishing, patinas to some areas. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
