Archaic Stone Head of Bodhisattva, China, Northern Wei style, the lacquered face with faint smile, central-parted hair, and flat ears, wearing a plain three-sided crown, mounted on a stand, overall ht. 8 1/2, head ht. 6 in. Estimate $600-800 flaking to lacquer, the left year chipped and repaired. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
