American, 20th Century. Malachite and patinated metal aviary or bird table top sculpture depicting two herons or egrets amidst cattails. One heron perched on a branch arising from a malachite rock. Sculpture raised on a rosewood plinth base, signed to the base of the malachite by the artist James Author Schwabe (American,1918-2008). Height 8.75", base measures approximately 4.5" x 5.5".
