Black-painted Carved Prince of Wales-crested Armchair, New England, mid-18th century, the crest above five half-balusters, shaped arms with scrolled handholds, and bulbous front stretcher, (feet pieced), ht. 49, seat ht. 16 1/4 in. Provenance: Lillian Cogan, 1977. Estimate $800-1,200 feet pieced 1 -1 1/2 inches each, repair to one baluster, later black paint. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
