Cased J. Purdey percussion half stock rifle , .70 cal., black powder proof barrel with an ebony ramrod, inscribed J. Purdey 314 ½ Oxford St., London , with a two-leaf platinum express sight, a lock plate with the maker's name and engraved with scrolled foliate decoration with a hammer safety and an English walnut stock with a left side cheek rest and a right side round patch box with radiating feather engraving, with the correct matching case and accoutrements, serial #4159 , 26 3/8" octagonal barrel.
