Justinian I (c. 483-565) Institutionum Civilium Libri Quatuor, Latin Manuscript on Paper, Late 17th-Early 18th Century. Quarto, brown ink on laid paper, approximately 130 leaves, including one sketch of two figures: a woman and a clown, on the last page of book one, deckle edges throughout, contemporary parchment over boards, many pages badly stained, dog-eared, some leaves likely lacking, binding badly damaged, large portions of parchment covering torn away and missing, 8 1/4 x 6 in. Estimate $300-500 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
