Frank Russell Green (American, 1856-1940) Three-panel Painted Folding Screen with Autumn Landscape. Signed "Frank Russell Green A.N.A." on the left panel l.l. Oil on canvas, each panel 69 1/2 x 19 3/4 in. Condition: Retouch, craquelure, scattered minor surface imperfections and scuffs to the outer edges. Estimate $20-200 The fronts of the panel panels are finished with painted trompe l'oeil edges suggesting a wood frame, and the bottom of each panel bears a trompe l'oeil floral medalion. The back is stretched with what appears to be faux leather. The sides of each panel are secured with hobnail tacks along a row of 3/4 inch-wide, leather-like binding. Frank Russell Green became an Associate Member of the National Academy of Design in 1897. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
