An eight piece Reed & Barton (Massachusetts, founded c. 1840) silverplate "Renaissance" tea set comprising of handled waiter tray, coffee pot, tea pot, kettle with stand, lidded sugar bowl, creamer, and waste bowl decorated by heavy Baroque style ornamentation including scrollwork and swags of foliate decoration. Each piece marked on bottom "Reed & Barton, 6000, Renaissance" with date mark indicating manufacture date of 1954 (exclusive of tray on which date mark indicates manufacture in 1953). Tray 30" x 22" x 2.25", coffee pot 11", tea kettle with stand 14.25", teapot 8.25", creamer 5.25", covered sugar 6.5", waste bowl 4.25". Total approximate weight 394 troy ounces.
