Sold for:
$150

Pair of wood sculling oars with unique shafts build in an I-Beam cross section for extra rigidity, as opposed to the standard tubular cross sections commonly used. Each blade is squared off at the end with copper tips. Length 116.50". Provenance: This pair of Sculling oars was specifically designed and built for owner George Justicz by Frank Clagget, boat builder for The Eton College Boathouse at Windsor, England. Frank was successor to the legendary George Pocock, who became the best known boat builder in U.S. Rowing History. Mr. Justicz won four Henley Royal Regatta Gold Medals with them between 1960 - 1964. He also completed with these Sculls at the 1980 Olympics in Rome.
