Large bound volume containing sheet music of popular titles in the tradition of minstrel shows, many with illustrated titles depicting white performers in black face make-up, the songs themselves written by Halliday, Stephen Foster, Cartee, Dielman, and others; performed by the Ethiopian Serenaders, the Christy Minstrels, Perham's Gems of the Minstrelsy, Bryant's Minstrels, the Virginia Minstrels, and others, including the following songs: Alabama Joe, Boatman's Song, Buffalo Gals, Camptown Races, Carry me Back to Old Virginia, Dixie's Land, Jim Crack Corn, Jordan is a Hard Road to Travel, My Old Kentucky Home, Nellie Bly, Old Susanna, Old Brown Cow, Old Folks at Home, Over the Mountain, Old Joe, Rosa Lee, Sally Come Up, Yellow Rose of Texas, and many others, with manuscript table of contents, bound in contemporary half leather with textured boards, worn, 13 x 10 in.
