Tryon Conversion South Carolina Militia Rifle, c. early 19th century, .54 caliber, walnut stock with brass buttplate, patch box, trigger guard, and ramrod pipes, small silver wrist plate, lock marked "TRYON/PHILADA/B," octagonal barrel with "S.CAROLINA" and "B 50" on the left side, with the muzzle turned to accept a bayonet, barrel lg. 30, overall lg. 46 1/2 in. Estimate $4,000-6,000 Stock has some wood filler on the front left side of the stock that is splitting off as well as missing the wedge attachment under the barrel, the front pipe is held on with epoxy, and the lock functions properly.
