Rose Pattern Pearlware Plate, Tea Bowl and Saucer, England, late 19th century, decorated with roses and leafy stems with a ropetwist border, dia. to 8 1/4 in. Provenance: According to documents associated with this lot, the pearlware once belonged to George Washington and was given to Lund Washington after George's death in 1799. After Mr. Foot's death, the pearlware was acquired by Major Henning who later sold them to H.M. Zimmerman, Washington, D.C. The pieces were sold by Zimmerman to John A. King. Upon John King's death, the pearlware became the property of his daughter, Ellen King who sold the items on August 16-17, 1928 through R.E. Manley Auctioneers, Hartford, Connecticut.
