Fan-carved Cherry Slant-lid Desk, probably Hartford, Connecticut, area, c. 1775, the lid carved with a fan composed as rays emanating from a half circle, opens to an interior with valance drawers and valanced compartments above drawers, and a central removable section with fluted details and hidden document drawers, all on case of thumb-molded graduated drawers and molded base of claw-and-ball front feet, brass pulls appear original, old surface, ht. 44, wd. 36 1/2, dp. 18 in.
