Pair of Painted Windsor Sack-back Chairs, attributed to Amos Denison Allen, Lisbon and Norwich, Connecticut, late 18th century, with exaggerated knuckle handholds and bold vase and ring turnings, old surface, ht. 36, seat ht. 16 3/4 in. Provenance: Descended in the Avery family of Willimantic, Connecticut; purchased from Nathan Liverant & Son, Colchester, Connecticut. The property of Brian and Pam Ehrlich Estimate $8,000-12,000 very minor evidence of old insect activity to underside of each seat. minor cracks to bow on one chair.
