Boston Common Paint-decorated Box, Massachusetts, mid-19th century, the dovetailed box with painted scenes of houses, large white buildings, hills, and trees, opening to a compartmented interior, ht. 4 5/8, wd. 13 1/4, dp. 7 3/4 in. The property of Pam Boynton Estimate $800-1,200 Lid had a handle at one time. There is a small crack at the right rear of the lid, wear and associated paint loss on the edges and abrasions on the lid. No obvious retouch.
