Thomas Parker Mahogany Bracket Clock, Philadelphia, c. 1785, central bail handle surmounts the dome-top case with three brass-edged molded pads, arch-top roman numeral painted iron dial with Strike/Silent in the arch, pierced diamond-tipped hands, and marked "Thos. Parker/Philadelphia," oval side windows and pierced sound vents, terminating on four ogee bracket brass feet, eight-day time and hour-strike double fusee movement regulated by a pinwheel escapement, mounted to a pine seating board, ht. 18 in. Note: There are two pieces of paper with wood samples taped to them dating 11-29-72 that read in part "wood for saddle board and inside base for Thomas Parker bracket clock/Pinus strobus/White Pine." Estimate $3,000-5,000 appears to be original surface, dial untouched, ticks and strikes but does not stay running. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
