Provenance: From the artist to Chinese Gallery Ltd., New York, to the current owner, according to Vasilieff's ledger. The craquelure at upper center (near the figure's chin) is lifting from the canvas. There is a small paint loss at upper center, near the edge of the flower on the figure's hat.
