Pair of Turner Black Basalt Bough Pots and Covers, England, late 18th century, each with pyramid-form pierced cover, the square vases with canted sides and widows at each corner, paneled sides with classical figures in relief within oval cartouches, impressed marks, ht. 8 in. Estimate $800-1,200 One bough pot with two shallow rim chips; one with a firing line to the plinth. The covers appear to be of later manufacture.
