Phelps/Troy, N.Y.," blued-steel needle with locking knob on underside, dual spirit levels mounted on north side, vernier with fine adjustment knob, lg. 15 3/4 in. Provenance: The collection of William H. Skerritt. Note: According to Skerritt this is one of two known examples by Phelps.
