Inlaid Massachusetts Shelf Clock, c. 1800, string-inlaid kidney-shaped dial opening, roman numeral painted iron dial with barbed hands, shell-inlaid base with bail handles mounted on sides, eight-day time-only movement regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and powered by a lead weight, ht. 32 1/2 in. Estimate $1,000-1,500 appears to be original seating board, bail handles on side are later, case feet have been cut down. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
