Blue and White Dragon Jar and Cover, China, 19th/20th century, baluster shape, four lion-head loops around shoulder, a stylized shishi lion on the domed cover, ht. 16 in. Provenance: The collection of a New England gentleman. Estimate $800-1,000 the finial of shishi, repaired and possibly attached later, chips to cover rim and bottom, numerous surface dirt and scratches, firing flaws with pockmarks.
